Danish Government to use Open SourceAfter four years of discussions the Danish Parliament has decided to adopt the Open Document Format for all of its state office correspondence. All parties have approved of the switch from Microsoft based software to open source standards and Science Minister Helge Sander, of the right wing party, Venstre told Denmark’s Parliament " My ambition is that in the future we will only communicate using open standards,”. They believe Open Source is the way forward and that attitudes to proprietary software need to change. National offices will make the change next April with other regional offices expected to follow later on.
