Staffordhsire University is the first higher education establishment to use an open source library managament system (LMS) Koha LMS, in partnership with PTFS Europe, provides the university with a web based system with all the usual open source benefits ie no vendor lock in and no annual fees. It also gives the university flexible solutions for other web based services including social media functions. Dave Parkes, Associate Director Learning, Technology and Information Services of the university said "The solution provides an excellent support infrastructure, full standards compliance and importantly great value for money."
